‘New vernacular’ – our interdisciplinary strategy of sustainable revitalization of Urleben – won the first prize in an international competition Landgut 2050, organized by Stiftung Baukultur Thüringen.
In a team of Mateusz Adamczyk, Agata Wozniczka from BUDCUD and Berthold Flieger with Valerie Madoka Naito we worked on transforming Urleben’s problems into its characteristic features that served as a basis of an effective revitalization strategy.
We designed three diverse ‘activators’. Their operational and financial schemes as well as architecture and public space approach strengthen the local community and build an open and sustainable public domain.
