Now open at Trafostacja Sztuki in Szczecin: “Frauenträume / Sny kobiet” — an imagined meeting of artists active in 1980s Poland and East Germany — an encounter that could not take place at the time for political reasons.
For this exhibition we designed the exhibition architecture, treating space as a narrative instrument. In Frauenträume, looking itself becomes the subject. The tension between watching and being watched is translated into an arrangement that offers two complementary perspectives. The first follows a classic viewing route, guiding visitors through the exhibition’s threads. The second introduces a top-view vantage point, which reorders the works into a spatial conversation with the past—inviting the show to be read as a contemporary dialogue with history.
The layout is organised into contrasting zones: a more classical display sequence and an experimental area structured around a tectonic floor landscape, incorporating a grandstand and plinths for Hantarex monitors. Together, these elements sharpen questions of gaze, position and visibility, while allowing the exhibition to be experienced in different rhythms and from different heights—both literally and conceptually.
