Nowe Zerniki is an architectural venture organized by the city of Wrocław and the Lower Silesian Chamber of Polish Architects in association with SARP Wrocław. Nowe Zerniki is a model housing estate, which stands in the opposite to belt-system production of apartments. It says no to standardized, uniform and of below average quality offer of the market.

The new housing estate is to be complemented with city functions that don’t usually appear in the suburbia neighborhoods (commercial, ecological and educational). Nowe Zerniki estate is being built in western part of the city of Wrocław, near municipal stadium.

Our project is a housing block scheme for high, deep and narrow site – one of many that local architects divided on the local masterplan.

Specific site proportion dictated characteristic architectural volume, permitting optimal light operation and ventilation. Besides, it created a pocket urban interior defining cameral neighborhood. Resilient plan allowed changing functions of building’s floors – from apartments to offices or studio-apartments.
