Discover the ‘Soft Ground’ exhibition, featuring the artistic and research works of the Exercising Modernity project grantees, including Agata Wozniczka from BUDCUD! This exciting showcase includes selected artists: Zofia Janina Borysiewicz, Laure Catugier, Michał Kowalski, Vinicius Libardoni, Daphna Noy, Aurélie Pertusot, Marcin Szczodry, Agata Woźniczka, and Yael Vishnizki-Levi. They employ various research tools and artistic methods to delve into lesser-known, underreported, or less obvious aspects of modernism and its relationship with modernity and modernization processes.

The exhibition is curated by Małgorzata Jędrzejczyk and Aleksandra Janus, who have brought together a diverse group of artists from Brazil, Israel, France, Germany, Poland, and the United States. Their curation introduces multiple narratives that encourage us to consider modernism and modernity as a mosaic of experiences, his-/herstories, and phenomena.

By translating these phenomena into contemporary artistic imagery, the artists aim to shed new light on modernism, both in terms of its history and its contemporary relevance. Agata’s work, titled ‘Ideal Block,’ explores the qualities of modernity in housing and their potential translations into the spatial languages of the 21st century.

Don’t miss the ‘Soft Ground’ exhibition, open until November 25, 2023, at the BHROX bauhaus reuse pavilion in Berlin!

We extend our gratitude to the Pilecki Institute in Berlin for this invitation.
